Product Description

If you're looking for outstanding print performance combined with Print-Copy-Scan convenience, look no further. With one machine, you can easily print high-quality photos and text, copy important documents, and scan your photos and other images. To achieve its impressive print results, Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses an innovative print head with 1,472 nozzles that eject consistent, precise ink droplets as small as two picoliters. This patented technology produces an outstanding resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 color dpi, for superb detail and photo-realism. It's fast, too; printing a beautiful photo lab quality 4" x 6" borderless photo takes approximately 55 seconds.

For improved copying performance, AE (Auto Exposure) Copy feature automatically optimizes reproduction quality based on the type of original you're duplicating. Whether you're copying your photos, text documents or a mix of both, the MP450 Photo All-In-One automatically adjusts the exposure to give you the best output possible. When scanning photos or graphics, you'll see high-quality 1,200-dpi reproductions with vibrant 48-bit color depth. Plus, the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface enables the fastest possible image transfers and scanning speeds.

Using the built-in 1.9" color LCD viewer, you can actually see your images in full color and enhance them before printing. Just insert your compatible memory card into one of the built-in card slots. As needed, the PIXMA MP450 Photo All-In-One Printer will automatically correct for red eye, improve sharpness and enhance the light values on your subjects' faces. You can also fine tune the images yourself using the easy control panel. As another convenient option, you can print directly from your PictBridge-ready devices such as digital cameras, with automatic face brightening.

The Canon ChromaLife100 system combines the PIXMA MP450 Photo All-In-One's FINE print head technology and newly developed inks with select Canon photo papers, with results rivaling that of many conventional photos. These beautiful photos will also last up to 100 years when stored in an archival quality photo album.

This is not my first Canon, I used them for years and they seem indestructible. I get this MP 450 from Amazon, before it get on the market, and just love it. It is a beautiful little thing, sleek and shiny in black and silver, white a nice adjustable LCD in full colour.

This multifunction is quite small (nice feature if you don't want to clutter your work space) and it does everything his big sister do (I had the huge mp 780 which I was not so found of). The MP 450 works nicely, smoothly and even faster. Scans and copies are sharp and clear, printing is crisp, it's a real pleasure to use.

Often one says it's better to have a cartridge for each colour, I am not so sure: when one is empty, the others follow shortly after. I love having just 2 cartridges to watch and manage (dealing with 4 or 5, you're always running at the shop unless you store a lot). By the way it is really a two (2) cartridges printer (event though I read otherwise on some websites. Furthermore, every time you change one of these, you get a new head, (that means sharp printing). But, even with that, the ink cost is quite low, a very important feature for me as I print a lot of text. It even "duplex print, so you use both side of paper. Furthermore, included are two high capacity cartridges , but I didn't compared theses the regular ones, or found any info on theses, but this is a nice little plus.

Photo and colour printing are astounding, you can modify the setting to your own tastes. The software bundle is full of nice surprises, like Arcsoft photo suite, which reassemble a little to Photoshop but is far much easier to use) , and two scanner utilities.

So I am very glad to have wait for the MP 450. And hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do. Good luck!
Good all- in- one for all your needs

I bought this unit to replace my 5 year old Canon F-30. The problem with my old unit was that after replacing the cartridges the colors stop working due to a bad print head. My only choice at this point was to buy a new head for more than I paid for a new MP-400. I look at differnt brands and they all had the same issue. They all use individual ink cartridges running on one common print head. The main advantage of the MP-450 is that you only have to deal with two cartridges that contain their individual heads. the real advantage is that every time you put a newone you put a new head wich translate into good print guality and cost efficiency but not having to buy a new headunit. As far as print quality goes the colors are accurate and pictures have a top notch print quality(for its price range). The speed is more than acceptable for home use. Scaning quality is impresive and color reproduction is very accurate. The number of faetures like direct printing from Digital Camera and the ability to double as a card reader into your computer makes it an amazing deal, not to mension the ability to see and print your picture without using yor computer. I have only own it for a couple of weeks so its hard to comment on long term reliability but around $100 plus low operating cost its hard not to recommed it.
pretty good AIO

Well made, exceptional value AIO, that prints, copies and scans very well and much better than expected. I really feel its the best value printer for this price.

Picture prints are specially worth mentioning since its a multifunction machine, one wouldnt expect to get such bright and crisp photo prints. The LCD feature makes it even easier for printing pictures without having to first transfer to the computer.

I recommend it.
Good print quality, great scans. And fast

Haven't had the time to use the photo printer option yet, but for general documents it's been great - good quality, fast printing. And the scanner quality has been pretty good too. A great deal for the money. Thanks!
I love my Pixma MP450

Pros:
1. I bought at a local store,with discounts I paid, $70.00. Loved the price.
2. The software that came with my printer/scanner/copier is top notch.
3. The ink seems to last me for a very long time. The price is close to what all ink for other printers cost. No complaint here. ;)

Cons:
1. Is a bit loud when feeding paper, but I can live with it. I am going to set the quiet mode as soon as finish here.
2. The paper does seem to need straightening up pretty often, but hey that's minor. Would be nice if it held more paper in the tray.

I am very pleased with my MP450. I even bought me an extra one for when this one poops out.

I recommend this unit to anyone that needs a printer that wants to print your own photos. Use the Canon paper and you will get fantastic prints.
